LET’S GO DEEPER:

1. Compare Philippians 1:6 with Philippians 2:12-13. How do these passages complement each other?

2. Read Colossians 1:9–11. Compare this passage to Philippians 1:9–11. How might these passages help shape our practice of prayer?

3. Paul wanted the church to be able to discern what really matters in life. Stop and pray for yourself and your church—that you all may be passionate about the things that really matter. Share at least 3 thoughts with someone on what you’ve decided really matter in life.

4. Do you think much about “the day of Christ”? How can a daily reflection on this future event impact our daily lives?

5. Paul reminds the church that they are “filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ to the glory and praise of God.” Can you draw any comparisons to Genesis 15:6?
